Books by Meridian Swift

Hi. I wrote these two books on volunteer management with you, the leader of volunteers in mind. They are the advice I would have given myself when I needed some guidance or just someone to listen. They are available on Amazon. (links provided) Thank you in advance for checking them out and maybe purchasing one or both. Reviews are most welcomed.

The first book I wrote, “The Volunteer Shelf Life,” created my blog and podcast. I wrote it because I couldn’t justify my feelings of guilt when a volunteer stopped volunteering, no matter their reasons or if I had to ask them to leave, and so I began to study the reasons they left, and whether retaining them was really the goal and if they were meant to be volunteers forever.

My second book, also available on Amazon, was written after many years in volunteer management. As I began to think about engaging volunteers, I realized outdated thinking and not having a truly solid foundation kept volunteerism in an ancient belief system, one which crippled volunteering’s potential. I thought about how I would construct an exceptional volunteer program, step-by-step, one that would benefit the organization, the volunteers and bolster the volunteer manager.
